About the Reston Citizens Association

MISSION STATEMENT

The Reston Citizens Association is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation serving over 65,000 people who live in Small Tax District #5. RCA was founded in 1967 to promote and protect Reston's founding principles in the political arena by serving as a non-partisan forum for all residents and as an advocate for the community with County and State government. Many good organizations serve Reston but RCA is the only community-wide, non-partisan, action organization in which every citizen has a voice.

OBJECTIVES

The seven founding principles relate to:

Fostering man-made and natural beauty
Providing the full range of housing styles so that people can stay in Reston throughout their lives
Providing the full range of housing prices so anyone can live in Reston
Being able to live and work in Reston
Full use of leisure time
Focusing on the importance and dignity of the individual
Being a financial success as a community

RCA aims to apply these principles to current events.
