“菜鳥”和“大蝦”

菜鳥，形容一個(gè)人上網(wǎng)很“菜”，用來比喻網(wǎng)絡(luò)新手，英文中的對(duì)應(yīng)詞是newbie；

大蝦，諧音自大俠，形容網(wǎng)絡(luò)高手，英文中的對(duì)應(yīng)詞是knowbie，表示a knowledgeable and experienced Internet user.值得一提的是這兩組詞在各自語言中都有比較一致的相關(guān)性，中文中的“菜鳥”和“大蝦”戲謔成分較重，適合以文字體現(xiàn)，口語中廣泛流傳的可能性不大，而英文中的“newbie”和“knowbie”音節(jié)少，口語中發(fā)音簡單易懂，拼寫起來形象易記，含義上可以擴(kuò)展到互聯(lián)網(wǎng)外的其他場合，具備廣泛的群眾基礎(chǔ)，已經(jīng)出現(xiàn)在各大正式媒體中了。

“灌水”和“潛水”

論壇是網(wǎng)絡(luò)交際的重要載體，在這里創(chuàng)造出來的網(wǎng)絡(luò)用語自然最多，最常見的非“灌水”和“潛水”莫屬。

中文里的“灌水”一詞形象生動(dòng)，一些人為了獲得積分在論壇里反復(fù)留言，在回別人帖子的時(shí)候沒有做出交際性的評(píng)論，只是簡單的表示“同意”、“支持”，內(nèi)容與主題無關(guān)，這種現(xiàn)象在英語中叫 bump，它在論壇里是“頂”的意思：To bump a thread on an internet forum is to post a reply in order to raise the thread's profile by returning it to the top of the list of active threads. This is also called "necroposting". 這種“灌水”往往被認(rèn)為是一種垃圾留言（spam），被很多論壇禁止。

“潛水”指在論壇、聊天室等只瀏覽不發(fā)言的行為，這樣的人好似“潛水員”，永遠(yuǎn)不浮出水面。“潛水”在英語中的對(duì)應(yīng)詞是lurk：
v. Lurking is an activity performed on Internet Forums or Chat rooms that involves wandering the website, reading posts and never actually posting anything. 長期“潛水”會(huì)導(dǎo)致論壇人氣不足，這樣的member最終會(huì)被管理員取消成員資格，但在剛剛加入某一論壇時(shí)為了了解論壇的風(fēng)格和討論的主題短時(shí)間的“潛水”是被接受和鼓勵(lì)的。
